The pre-conference begins on June 19 and runs through June 21. This is a workshop of SCF’s Core Concepts training, a training developed for all SCF employees to support SCF’s vision of a Native Community that enjoys physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness. During this training, you will learn how you impact others, how to articulate your story from the heart, how to understand your personal and professional aspirations, and methods for good dialogue and productive conversations. This training is an essential component of SCF’s relationship-based care system, and the skills and tools taught here will be useful in attendees’ professional and personal lives. The training is taught by SCF leadership and led by SCF’s President/CEO.

The general conference is June 22-23. The conference will have the following sessions available:

  • A keynote speech by SCF President/CEO on SCF’s Nuka System of Care
  • A keynote speech by Dr. David Labby from Health Share of Oregon on changing the narrative of population health
  • A keynote speech by Cherokee Indian Hospital CEO Casey Cooper on Cherokee’s journey of health system transformation
  • A plenary session on workforce development
  • A plenary session on redesigning behavioral health
  • A plenary session on integrated care delivery
  • A plenary session with a panel of SCF customer-owners
  • Five sets of concurrent sessions. These sessions will cover five major topic areas: leadership, medical services, behavioral services, improvement and innovation, and human resource practices. More information on these topic areas can be found in previous articles on this blog.

Optional wellness and networking activities are also available, including a cultural reception at the Alaska Native Heritage Center and a hike up nearby Flattop Mountain (weather permitting). Tours of SCF’s Anchorage Native Primary Care Center will also be available on both days of the general conference. Breakfast and lunch are provided on each day of the pre-conference and the general conference.

Registration is still available for both the pre-conference and the general conference. Most conference participants attend both, but separate registration is available for the pre-conference and general conference. The conference begins soon, so register today!
