Southcentral Foundation’s Virtual Nuka Conference

Southcentral Foundation’s Virtual Nuka Conference

Southcentral Foundation is hosting the Virtual Nuka Conference from February 12th to 14th. The conference will be held fully online and will feature 16 interactive sessions on various aspects of SCF’s Nuka System of Care, including integrated care teams, behavioral health integration, rural and remote care, strategic planning, workforce development, and much more. The sessions will be hosted by the same SCF subject matter experts who work in SCF’s Nuka System of Care.

The conference will be preceded by an online session of SCF’s Virtual Introduction to Core Concepts. This is a two-day online training based on principles from SCF’s Core Concepts training, which is provided for all SCF employees. The training teaches the communication and relationship-building skills that SCF’s providers use to understand each customer-owner’s unique story and support them in achieving wellness. Both the conference and Introduction to Core Concepts will have CME/CE credits available.

Feedback from last year’s virtual conference was positive. In post-conference surveys, participants stated:

  • “[Presenters were] knowledgeable and displayed very positive personalities.”
  • “I loved the passion. Clearly the leadership team is passionate and believe in the work being done.”
  • “You very effectively conveyed that it was possible for you to ‘break the mold’, adopt a different paradigm and succeed. That takes tremendous effort, conviction, passion and vulnerability. You then explained how you achieved your goals and continue to achieve them. Very motivating.”
  • “I appreciated the acknowledgement of quality care as many of us see it based on when we first entered the field of medicine and that SCF has kept that at its core.”

When asked if they would recommend the Nuka System of Care to colleagues, 85% of survey respondents strongly agreed and the remaining 15% agreed. When asked if they would use the information provided to improve their agency, 62% of survey respondents strongly agreed and the remaining 38% agreed. And when asked if they were satisfied with the Virtual Nuka Conference, 77% of survey respondents strongly agreed and the remaining 23% agreed.
