Resources for Coping During the Time of COVID-19

During the COVID-19 pandemic, health care workers may find themselves under considerable stress as they go about their jobs in difficult and uncertain times. Following are some resources that Southcentral Foundation has shared internally for its workforce about finding emotional balance during stressful times. The Learning Institute is publishing these in the hope that they may be useful to our readers.

Staying Grounded: Free Resources

Each of us finds emotional balance in our own way. As we respond to Covid-19, making time to focus on emotional wellness is crucial. Staying balanced includes taking personal time-outs; deliberately disconnecting from things that cause stress and turning inward to seek peace. There are an incredible number of Apps and websites that can be helpful to you.

One resource is an organization called mindful. In support of health and well-being during this challenging time they are offering free access to a daily mindfulness course called Find Calm and Nourish Resilience. It is a series of lessons from leading experts in the field of mindfulness. If you’re interested, check it out at: https://learning.mindful.org/p/daily-mindfulness-free

Another good resource is the Greater Good Science Center at University of California Berkeley. Greater good shares scientific research that helps support a more compassionate society. Stories range from how to clear your head, to goodness in the face of COVID-19. If you’re interested, check it out at: https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/
