Improving and Growing SCF’s Virtual Integrated Care Team Training

Southcentral Foundation subject matter experts have been busy moving many trainings to the virtual environment, including our popular Integrated Care Team training. This training is based on an internal training that is used with SCF’s Integrated Care Teams to improve services for customer-owners, as well as enhance team dynamics and team satisfaction. After each training, SCF surveys participants to collect feedback to improve future trainings. Here is some of that feedback as well as some of the improvements we’ve made as a result. So far, since October 2020, more than 90 people have participated in this virtual training.

In November 2020, feedback from the inaugural two-day training showed that the schedule wasn’t ideal – the time zone wasn’t optimized for participants in various time zones, and it was a long day for virtual learning. The schedule was reworked to deliver the training over four days in four-hour sessions.

In April of 2021, SCF held a virtual Integrated Care Team training that was attended by 17 outside participants. When surveyed about the course afterward, 100% of participants either strongly agreed or agreed that the training would help them do their jobs better. 94% strongly agreed or agreed that they were satisfied with the training. And 100% strongly agreed or agreed that they would recommend SCF’s Integrated Care Team training to colleagues.

Also, in February and May of 2021, SCF held exclusive virtual Integrated Care Team trainings for two Learning Institute clients. SCF surveyed participants after the trainings, and 100% strongly agreed or agreed that the training would help them do their jobs better. 92% strongly agreed or agreed that they were satisfied with the training. And 100% strongly agreed or agreed that they would recommend the training to colleagues.

When giving feedback about the training, one participant stated:

The description of roles and responsibilities of ICT and the best practices is going to be such an amazing tool for us! I am so excited about implementing this information and standardizing our job descriptions.

Another participant stated:

The ideas brought to the meeting, I would like to incorporate into the organization that I work for.

The Learning Institute is currently offering a virtual Integrated Care Team training as part of our summer line-up of events. This line-up includes the Virtual Nuka Conference, which features live sessions on a number of topics related to SCF’s Nuka System of Care, and Introduction to Core Concepts, a two-day workshop that teaches the communication and relationship-building skills that SCF’s providers use to build relationships with customer-owners. Any or all of these events can be signed up for on our registration page. We hope to see you this summer for the Integrated Care Team training and more!
